Professional Learning Modules

Professional Learning Modules are available to professionals who work with families to help them enhance interactions as they partner with parents and caregivers to enhance each family’s well-being.

Applied Neuroscience for Helping Professionals

Supportive and healthy working alliances between providers and their clients are important factors in helping clients improve and maintain their well-being across an array of contexts—at the individual level, within familial contexts, and in one’s work and social environments. This module can help you understand more about how our brains and bodies respond to stress and change so you can foster healthy provider-client alliances across a range of individual- and family-focused programs and interventions.

Motivational Interviewing and Values Clarification Module

As a parent educator, you play a valuable role in helping parents and caregivers acquire the knowledge and skills needed to raise healthy children and nurture resilient families. Motivational Interviewing and Values Clarification are two skills that can help you communicate with, educate, and motivate parents and caregivers to change parenting behaviors. NEAR Science, Adverse Childhood Experiences, and Positive Childhood Experiences

Research generated about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) has become a cornerstone of robust and evolving dialogues about the ways that stress and resilience operate across the lifespan. This module provides a broad overview of the evolution of studying ACEs and resilience since the late 1990s and is relevant for professionals who work with individuals and families who may have been affected by early adversity, stress, and/or trauma.
